Magnum red wine Givry 1er cru

This Magnum of Givry 1er Cru Clos du Cellier aux Moines 2020 of the Cellier aux Moines comes from a historic plot of Givry identified for centuries by the Cistercian monks as one of the jewels of the Burgundy vineyard, magnificently facing south, below the cellar aux moines (built around 1130). The vines of the Cellier are exploited biodynamically and the grapes are partially destemmed and then vatted almost intact to preserve all their aromatic and taste potential. Ageing is done in oak barrels for 18 months.

This 2020 opens with velvety notes of peony, red berries, plum, spices, orange peel and cloves. The palate is harmonious, on fine tannins framed by a beautiful energy and a salivating finish. Great wine!
