Everyone will agree that Catherine and Claude Maréchal are above all winegrowers-farmers of unparalleled kindness and modesty. Based in Bligny les Beaune since 1981, the fusion couple Claude-Catherine leads the estate in a family way, with their son Antoine who will naturally take over the estate in the years to come. Here the key words are peasant common sense, soil cultivation (ploughing for more than 20 years), banning synthetic products and limited intervention in winery. The wines have a "classic" profile in the very good sense of the word: here we do not give in to fashions or style effects. The reds are destemmed and fermented into indigenous yeasts before spending two winters in the cellar for the vintages. The whites are gently pressed and then aged also in oak barrels. We love this couple of endearing winemakers who resemble their wine in everything: easy to access, gourmet without falling into the blunder, and especially wines that exude joie de vivre and common sense.
