Domaine Baudry Bernard

Domaine Baudry Bernard

Coming from a family of winemakers from Cravant les Coteaux, Bernard Baudry started his career as a wine consultant at the laboratory in Tours alongside Jacques PUISAIS, after studying oenology in Beaune.
This formative experience lasted 5 years before he decided to establish his own business in 1975, managing a small estate of 2 hectares.
His son, Matthieu, studied in Mâconnais and then in Bordeaux. After a year of training in Tasmania and California, he decided to join the family estate in 2000.
The estate now covers 32 hectares of vineyards in the CHINON Controlled Designation of Origin, located in the municipalities of Cravant les Coteaux and Chinon.
The main grape variety cultivated is Cabernet Franc (about 90%), supplemented by a small production of Chenin Blanc (about 10%).
The vineyards of Bernard Baudry estate are situated on very diverse terroirs, including gravelly plains, clay-limestone hillsides, and sandy limestone plateaus.
The diversity of our terroirs allows us to implement plot-by-plot vinification.
The red and rosé wines are produced from Cabernet Franc, and the white wines from Chenin.
