Domaine Baudry Bernard

Domaine Baudry Bernard

Coming from a family of winegrowers from Cravant les Coteaux, Bernard Baudry began as a wine advisor at the Tours laboratory alongside Jacques PUISAIS, after oenological studies in Beaune.
This formative experience lasted 5 years before he decided to set up his own business in 1975 at the head of a small estate of 2 hectares.
Matthieu, his son, studied in the Mâconnais and then in Bordeaux. After a year of internship in Tasmania and California, he decided to join the family estate in 2000.
The estate now has 32 hectares of vines spread over the CHINON Appellation Contrôlée, in the communes of Cravant les Coteaux and Chinon.
The main grape variety grown is Cabernet Franc (about 90%) to which is added a small production of Chenin Blanc (about 10%).
The vineyards of Domaine Bernard Baudry are located on very varied terroirs of gravel in the plain, clay limestone on the hillsides and sandy limestone on the plateaus.
The diversity of our terroirs offers us the opportunity to apply plot vinification.
Red and rosé wines are produced from Cabernet Franc and white wines from Chenin.
