Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot

Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot

Jean-Marc Pillot is one of the most skilful winemakers in Chassagne–Montrachet. He joined his father Jean Pillot in 1985 and took the reins in 1991, becoming the 5th generation. At the head of an estate of 12 hectares, he offers a magnificent range of 1st growths in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet, in white as in red. Meticulous and demanding, Jean-Marc takes care of his vines as if it were his garden. Ploughing and tillage throughout the year, leaf stripping and green harvesting in summer. The whites are aged for 12 months with 20% new barrels. The wines are not racked and little sulphite. Then, each cuvée stays 6 to 8 months more in stainless steel vats before bottling to let the wines rest from their ageing. The wines reflect very well their terroir of origin and assert themselves in a well-established Chassagne style: intensity, concentration and character! Antonin, Jean-Marc's son, now takes up the torch with talent. The magnums of Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot wine presented on this site come directly from the estate.
