Distillerie Twelve Whisky

The story of the Twelve Whisky distillery began in 2014 with the shared passion of two young Frenchmen captivated by the landscapes of Aubrac, similar to those of Scotland. Their goal: to create from scratch a whisky made exclusively from Aubrac products. To achieve this, they set up a brewery and distillery in the presbytery of Les Anges, in the heart of Laguiole.

The first phase of their whisky production involves a local raw material: malted barley, combined with the pure water from the Aubrac plateau. After fermentation, this whisky beer is distilled using the distillery's still. The resulting alcohol, with a strength of 68 to 70 degrees, is aged for a minimum of 3 years... this is where the whisky gains all its complexity and aromatic subtlety.

The Twelve Whisky distillery innovates by using no less than 30 different types of casks, which previously housed various alcohols (port, PX, rum...). The blends are unique, creating original and characterful whiskies, 100% Aubrac!
