Domaine Rougeot

Domaine Rougeot

The Rougeot family is part of the heritage of Meursault, a long dynasty (9 generations!) of winegrowers and notables, the patriarch Hubert having been mayor of Meursault for more than 20 years and great instigator of the famous Paulée de Meursault. Pierre-Henri, Hubert's flamboyant forty-year-old grandson, drew on this heritage while establishing a great renewal.
Passionate about wines since his childhood, he emancipated himself from Meursault to begin his professional career as a salesman for a cooperage, traveling the world to meet winegrowers. By dint of meetings and exchanges for about ten years, he refines his talent as a taster and affirms the style of the wines he loves.
Fully back at the Domaine in 2019, Pierre-Henri succeeds his father Marc and quickly decides to apply his convictions: organic certification, tillage, biodynamic testing in the vineyard and a gentle vinification, little interventionist in the cellar. The great originality lies in its approach to the main input, namely sulfur.
Pierre-Henri decided to give himself the choice and taste each oak barrel one by one during aging, to decide to bottle them without sulfur or to use them at least to ensure stability and aromatic sharpness.
You will be able to discover two types of vintages: those "classic" with a minimum of sulfur, and those without added sulfur. The whites are salivating, racy and greedy with a lot of freshness, never heaviness. The reds are vinified in whole harvests, fruit bombs that snap on the palate! The Domaine Rougeot is a great breath of fresh air in the heart of Meursault! These magnums of the Domaine Rougeot come directly from the domain.
