Domaine Rougeot

Domaine Rougeot

The Rougeot family is part of the heritage of Meursault, a long dynasty (9 generations!) of winemakers and notables, with the patriarch Hubert having been the mayor of Meursault for over 20 years and a key figure in the famous Paulée de Meursault. Pierre-Henri, in his vibrant forties and grandson of Hubert, draws from this legacy while bringing a great renewal to it.
Passionate about wines since his childhood, he breaks away from Meursault to start his professional career as a salesperson for a cooperage, traveling the world to meet winemakers. Through numerous encounters and exchanges over a decade, he refines his tasting skills and asserts the style of wines he loves.
Fully back at the Domaine in 2019, Pierre-Henri succeeds his father Marc and quickly decides to put his convictions into practice: organic certification, soil work, experimentation with biodynamics in the vineyard, and a gentle winemaking approach, minimally interventionist in the cellar. The great originality lies in his approach to the main input, namely sulfur.
Pierre-Henri decided to give himself the choice and taste each oak barrel individually during aging, to decide whether to bottle them without sulfur or to use it minimally to ensure stability and aromatic clarity.
You can thus discover two types of cuvées: the "classic" ones with minimal sulfur, and those without added sulfur. The whites are mouth-watering, elegant, and delicious with lots of freshness, never heavy. The reds are whole-cluster fermented, bursting with fruity flavors that explode on the palate! The Domaine Rougeot brings a breath of fresh air to Meursault! These magnums from the Domaine Rougeot are directly from the estate.
