Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils

Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils

The Bouchard Père & Fils house is an iconic estate in Beaune, established for 3 centuries and operating highly qualitative plots, mainly in the Côte de Beaune region.
The Vine of the Infant Jesus is Bouchard's iconic wine, due to its symbolic history and very high quality.
The designation "Vine of the Infant Jesus" refers to a historical anecdote. It is said that Marguerite du Saint-Sacrement, a Carmelite and founder of the Domestics of the Holy Family of the Infant Jesus, predicted the birth of the French King Louis XIV when his mother, Anne of Austria, was barren.
Upon the birth of the future Sun King, this exceptional vineyard belonging to the Carmelites was named "Vine of the Infant Jesus" in homage to the Sun King.
In 1791, during the sale of national assets, the Bouchard Père & Fils House acquired the plot, located in the heart of the 32 hectares of the Beaune Grèves appellation. They still have exclusive rights to it today. The magnums of Bouchard Père & Fils featured on this site are directly from the estate.
