Domaine La Soufrandière - Bret Brothers

Domaine La Soufrandière - Bret Brothers

Vinzelles is a little-known but historic vineyard in Southern Burgundy. There are traces of vines from the Middle Ages. This perfectly exposed hillside houses the Soufrandière estate masterfully led by Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume Bret. The two brothers represent the third generation. The family's wine history began in 1948 with grandfather Jules Bret - professor of medicine - who acquired a hectare of vines on the climate "les Quarts", the mythical plot of Vinzelles. Following their father Jean-Paul, the two brothers started on a high in 2000, being certified in biodynamics (demeter) in 2006. And they put the human resources to develop the estate to 12ha today, complemented by a high-quality "bret brothers" trade. The Brett brothers are always on the move, always experimenting, in the vineyard (high trellising, tillage, grassing, seed seedling...) as well as in the cellar where almost sulphur-free wines are perfectly combined (Zen cuvée) and more classic versions. A real intellectual bubbling, wines with a lot of personality and especially never boredom tasting the wines of Jean-Phi and Jean-Gui!
