The Fouassier family is one of the oldest winemaking families in Sancerre, and one of the most respectable by the way! In 1966, Pierre Fouassier began working with his father on the 10ha family, after studying at the Beaune wine school. Developing the estate, he was joined by his brother Jean-Michel. The 10th generation is now at the helm thanks to Benoit and Paul, the respective children of Jean-Michel and Pierre.
The estate today has 59ha planted 80% in Sauvignon (old vines) and the rest in Pinot Noir. Followers of biodynamics, the two cousins perpetuate the practices of the estate, in particular the identification of separate terroirs and single-plot vintages, an approach they have pioneered since the 80s. The wines have a pure and mineral profile, without woody influence. Wines on finesse and elegance, never in power or exuberance.
