Champagne Pertois Moriset

Champagne Pertois Moriset

Located in Mesnil sur Oger, in the heart of the prestigious Côte des Blancs, this family-owned estate has always been independent, selecting its grapes with the same rigor from generation to generation. The history of the house begins with the marriage of Yves Pertois and Janine Moriset, both from Champagne winemaker families. So, it was only natural that in 1951, this passionate couple decided to establish their own estate: Pertois-Moriset, with the family cradle, the Côte des Blancs, as its centerpiece. Today, the Pertois-Moriset estate is brilliantly managed by their granddaughter, Cécile, and her husband Vincent. Over the past ten years, the estate has greatly gained in reputation and now covers 21 hectares spread over two high-quality terroirs: the Côte des Blancs and the Sézannais hillside. The approach is organic and the soils are worked. The house has expanded with the construction of a new, sophisticated winery in 2009, allowing for precise control of fermentations and aging on fine lees. The bottles then remain on racks for at least 20 months, and even longer for vintage champagnes. The Pertois-Moriset champagnes exhibit a lot of flavor, creaminess, and citrus notes, white fruit, and a hint of toasted bread, with lively and persistent bubbles. A very nice discovery for a superb quality-price ratio.
