Champagne Pierre Paillard

Champagne Pierre Paillard

The Champagne estate of Pierre Paillard, nestled in the prestigious terroir of Bouzy for 200 years, is a family-owned house that spans 11 hectares of classified Grand Cru vineyards. This estate, led by brothers Antoine and Quentin Paillard, represents the eighth generation of winemakers. Their vineyard is planted with 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, with plots averaging 30 years old.

Benoit Paillard, the father of the current leaders, has guided the estate towards exceptional quality with a philosophy of soil respect, yield control, and parcel vinification. The estate has been practicing organic farming since 2016, banning chemical pesticides and selecting low-yield grape varieties to obtain fully mature grapes that express their terroirs to the fullest.

The vinification process takes place in wood, with unblocked malolactic fermentation and minimal sulfur doses, allowing the wines to develop a unique complexity and aromatic richness. The wines are aged for 9 months on lees in tanks and barrels, then mature in the cellar for up to 10 years for the finest vintages.

In 2018, the estate expanded its range by establishing itself in the best terroirs of the Montagne de Reims, including Ambonnay, Verzy, Verzenay, Ludes, Taissy, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Each terroir contributes to the diversity and complexity of the cuvées offered.

The estate stands out for its commitment to excellence, from vine to bottle, and its respect for traditions while adopting environmentally friendly innovations. The Champagnes of Pierre Paillard reflect centuries-old expertise, offering refined, balanced wines deeply influenced by their original terroir.
