Domaine François Chidaine

Domaine François Chidaine

Located in the heart of Touraine, in Montlouis-sur-Loire, Domaine François Chidaine extends over 45 hectares between the majestic Loire River and the tuffeau hillside. A must-visit estate for any lover of the great expressions of Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley.

Since 1989, François Chidaine has become a key figure in Loire Valley white wines, admired by many winemakers for his unique talent. He has played a crucial role in showcasing Montlouis and its original terroir. In the early 2000s, he expanded his estate to Vouvray by acquiring the Clos Baudoin from the Poniatowski family. With the support of his wife Manuéla, François has consistently refined his winemaking and aging techniques, rigorously working in his vineyards certified in biodynamic agriculture since 1999.

François Chidaine's wines are exceptional. The range includes blends of plots (Choisilles, Argiles, Tuffeaux, Moelleux) and unique named vineyards (Clos du Breuil, Les Bournais, Clos Habert, Baudoin). These wines, with their sparkling fruit, require a few years of cellaring to fully blossom.

François and Manuéla Chidaine, along with their team, strive to produce high-quality wines in harmony with nature.
