Based on the hills of the Bauges massif, on the border of Switzerland and the Aosta Valley in Italy, Adrien Berlioz's certified organic vineyard is a beautiful mosaic representing Savoie. Adrien took over the family vineyards in 2006, two hectares located in the small village of Chignin, at an altitude of 390m. With a lot of work and a quality-oriented biodynamic approach, he expanded his vineyard to 5ha of vines, becoming one of the most renowned winemakers in Savoie.
His vineyard is characterized first by an extreme slope (sometimes 50% gradient), on a soil of hard and limestone rock. The grape varieties are typical of Savoie: jacquère, altesse, malvoisie, bergeron (roussanne), mondeuse, and persan, all cultivated without chemical inputs. In the winery, Adrien vinifies the wines without sulfur and uses different containers. The result? Pure, digestible, and perfectly balanced wines. Here the term minerality is justified!
