Domaine Burguet

Domaine Burguet

Domaine Alain Burguet is the result of the forced work of Alain Burguet, who set up his estate ex nihilo in the 70s, his family not owning vines until then (his father Yvon was a labourer in Gevrey-Chambertin). After placing the estate among the most famous in Gevrey-Chambertin, Alain has been able to count on his children Jean-Luc and Eric since the 90s.

2011 marks their first vintage, and since then their style of wines continues to assert itself. Jean-Luc in charge of vinification seeks to obtain the essence of Pinot Noir, by intervening as little as possible in the winery. The harvest is Gevrey's latest to obtain healthy and ripe fruit suitable for fermentation without input. Thus, vinification is now done without added sulfur and without temperature manipulation.

The ageing is in traditional oak barrels, extractions are very limited as is the use of new barrels. No filtration or gluing. The style has evolved a lot recently and we are big fans of the aromatic purity, freshness and precision of the juices produced. Gevrey that give a big boost of freshness to the appellation!
