Domaine Burguet

Domaine Burguet

The Domaine Alain Burguet is the result of Alain Burguet's hard work, who started his estate from scratch in the 1970s, as his family did not own any vineyards until then (his father Yvon was a laborer in Gevrey-Chambertin). After establishing the estate as one of the most renowned in Gevrey-Chambertin, Alain has been able to rely on his children Jean-Luc and Eric since the 1990s.

2011 marked their first vintage, and since then their wine style has continued to assert itself. Jean-Luc, in charge of winemaking, seeks to capture the very essence of Pinot Noir by intervening as little as possible in the winemaking process. The grapes are harvested later than anywhere else in Gevrey to obtain healthy and fully ripe fruit suitable for fermentation without additives. Consequently, the winemaking process now takes place without added sulfur and without temperature manipulation.

The wines are aged in traditional oak barrels, with very limited extraction and minimal use of new barrels. No filtering or fining is done. The style has evolved significantly in recent years, and we are big fans of the aromatic purity, freshness, and precision of the wines produced. These Gevreys bring a breath of fresh air to the appellation!
