Domaine Henri Magnien

Domaine Henri Magnien

The Magnien family is one of the oldest winemaking families in Burgundy, especially in the Côte de Nuits region, thanks to the Domaine Henri Magnien, a family estate rooted in Gevrey Chambertin since the 1600s.
For no less than twelve generations, they have cultivated a magnificent vineyard mainly consisting of old vines in Gevrey-Chambertin and Corton. The estate, as it exists today, was established by Henri Magnien in 1987 and is currently run by Charles Magnien. The vineyard spans 6 hectares of old vines (family mass selection) which Charles skillfully tends to. The farming practices are sustainable, and the winemaking process is rather traditional. Charles has invested in the cellar to further enhance the quality of the wines. A new winery was built in 2018. The wines are charming, showing finesse and elegance, with a classic use of new oak barrels and a gentle extraction. They are a sincere and elegant expression of the quintessence of Pinot Noir!
