Domaine Cellier aux Moines

Domaine Cellier aux Moines

An architectural jewel of Burgundy winemaking, Domaine Cellier aux Moines is one of the oldest wine estates in the region.
Founded in 1130 by Cistercian monks in Givry, the Cellier aux moines and its vineyard are still preserved.
During the French Revolution, the estate was requisitioned and sold to a family who kept it for two centuries, until the Pascal family acquired it in 2004.
The Pascal family set up an extensive restoration programme for both the cellar and the vineyard.
Similarly, a new winery was created, with very high level facilities to vinify wines with precision while preserving the authenticity of their native terroir.
In particular, the iconic vines: 5 hectares of the famous Clos du Cellier aux Moines, a historic premier cru in Givry but also some prestigious plots in Puligny and Chassagne Montrachet. The estate covers 10 hectares, all cultivated biodynamically.
Another particularity is that there is no pumping of the wines (from the arrival of the grapes to the bottling) thanks to this vat room in total gravity on 4 levels. A watchword at the service of the quality of the wines: "Simplex Natura" (Let Nature take its course). The magnums offered here come directly from the Domaine du Cellier aux Moines.
