Domaine Tenuta di Valgiano

Domaine Tenuta di Valgiano

The highly qualitative evolution of Tenuta di Valgiano over the past few years is remarkable in every way. North of Florence, in the southern part of the wine-growing region of Tuscany, lies a lesser-known but high-quality appellation: Colline Lucchesi. This is where Laura di Collobiano settled in 1993. She quickly decided to cultivate the Sangiovese grape using organic and biodynamic practices. The estate benefits from an exceptional terroir, at 250m above sea level, on hills not far from the Mediterranean. Laura has implemented a very high-level viticulture, practicing full biodynamics. The wines have a lot of soul, depth, and elegance. A unique definition of the Sangiovese grape, quite different from the overly muscular super Tuscans.
