This estate, based in Santenay since the 1960s, produces wines with an excellent quality-price ratio. The brothers Claude and Hervé Muzard are masters of their craft and continue the family tradition, gradually involving their children in the estate, especially Capucine, Claude's daughter. Quality work is carried out at the estate. The parcel of old vines, which extends widely over Santenay, but also Pommard, Maranges, and Chassagne, is carefully preserved, and the Muzard brothers were the first to understand the importance of the genetic heritage of the vines, based on mass selection and deliberately limited yields to avoid exhausting the vines. The methods have been organic for a long time, as well as the soil work. Reds are predominant here, with a good proportion of whole-cluster fermentation to preserve freshness, increased drinkability, and that recognizable floral touch of the estate. Nevertheless, the wines have retained their crunchy, fleshy fruitiness characteristic of the estate. The wines are not lacking in depth or potential. The magnums of wines from Domaine Lucien Muzard presented on this site are directly from the estate.
