Domaine Lucien Muzard & fils

Domaine Lucien Muzard & fils

This estate based in Santenay since the 60s produces wines of excellent value for money. The brothers Claude and Hervé Muzard master their subject and perpetuate the family tradition, gradually integrating their children into the estate, especially Capucine, daughter of Claude. Quality work is carried out at the estate. The plot of old vines, which extends largely over Santenay, but also Pommard, Maranges and Chassagne, is carefully preserved and the Muzard brothers were the first to understand the importance of the genetic heritage of the vines, based on mass selection and deliberately limited yields so as not to exhaust the vine. The methods have been organic for a long time, as has tillage. The reds are in the majority here, with a good proportion of whole vinification grapes to preserve freshness, increased drinkability and that floral touch recognizable to the estate. The wines, however, have retained their crunchy and fleshy fruitiness also specific to the estate. The wines do not lack substance or potential. The magnums of Domaine Lucien Muzard wines presented on this site come directly from the estate.
