Les Pères Chartreux

Les Pères Chartreux

The queen of liqueurs was born in 1605 when the Carthusian monks, very skilled herbalists, received from the Duke of Estrées a manuscript mentioning the formula for an Elixir of long life.
The Carthusian monks refined this recipe and developed the current recipe, under the name of health liqueur. The liqueurs are still produced today in the department of Isère. Nowadays, the range is very diverse, although each blend is infused with the Chartreuse touch.
The Green Chartreuse has not lost any of its vegetal intensity and its elixir-like rejuvenating quality due to its natural freshness. While the Yellow Chartreuse, softer, focuses on delicate notes of tangy candies, suze, citrus fruits, and bergamot.
Moreover, the Carthusian monks have developed subtle green/yellow blends that have already become popular, such as the Chartreuse MOF blend, powerful yet refined, and the Centennial Liqueur, exhibiting a complex aromatic profile. Preserved and even enhanced craftsmanship!
