Domaine De Montcalmes

Domaine De Montcalmes

An experienced winemaker, Frédéric Pourtalié signed his first vintage in 1999 and immediately met with success thanks to his cuvées full of charm and depth for the domaine de montcalmes. Located between Puéchabon, Aniane, Saint-Jean-de-Fos and Saint-Saturnin-de-Lucian, the vineyard (35 hectares of family vines) is composed of Syrah and Grenache located on a limestone plateau facing north, as well as Mourvèdre on a terroir of rolled pebbles that evokes Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
The finesse of the tannins comes from aging in barrels for 24 months in a wet cellar dug by this ingenious winemaker. The wines then rest for another year in vats and bottles. These are therefore three harvests that are refined underground, which is quite rare and makes it the signature of this reference domain. RVF
