Domaine Clusel-Roch

Domaine Clusel-Roch

The Domaine Clusel-Roch is one of the essential estates in Côte Rotie, both because of its long family lineage and the consistent quality of the wines produced at the estate. The history of the estate begins in the 1950s with René and Joséphine Clusel, who were initially farmers, as the Côte Rotie appellation had little value at that time.

It was thanks to their son Gilbert and his wife Brigitte Roch that the estate took off in the 1980s, with significant work on clearing land and planting vines: mass selection, highlighting the Grandes Places plots, soil work, new winery facilities... all in the service of organic viticulture certified as early as the 2000s (in 2005, among the first in Côte Rotie).

Guillaume Clusel, the son of Gilbert and Brigitte, has been working the family vineyards (18 ha) since 2009. He continues the work of his parents to produce wines known for their finesse, elegance, and a beautiful acidity that defines the Clusel-Roch style. It is always a great pleasure to enjoy the wines from this family, as their drinkability is exceptional!
