Domaine Trapet

Domaine Trapet

The first acquisition of vines by the Trapet family - originally from Chambolle-Musigny - in Gevrey, dates back to 1859. The Domaine Trapet has progressed throughout the twentieth century which places it today among the best of the Côte de Nuits. With 15ha including 13.5 in Pinot Noir cultivated biodynamically since 1995, this recognized property took on a new dimension when Jean-Louis Trapet married Andrée Grayer, also heiress of an estate in Riquewihr (Alsace). Jean-Louis decided to take the path of gentleness and respect for the vine to achieve the highest degree of expression of his terroirs. Jean-Louis and Andrée are now supported by their children Pierre and Louis.
From the buds to the harvest, the grapes are accompanied but never forced, as evidenced by the use of biodynamics. Pragmatic in the face of global warming. Since 2003, the family has opted for whole harvest winemaking. Another adaptation, the use of pastry (the Burgundian term for shallas) on grands crus and premiers crus... A titanic work at the service of a grape better adapted to hot weather.
A constant questioning and a lot of work in the vineyard to welcome in the winery grapes in perfect health, as well as maturity, a sine qua non condition to reach the level of excellence carried by the Trapet family for many generations. The magnums of wines from Domaine Trapet presented on this site so directly from the estate.
