The Matrot family has been cultivating vineyards in the Côte de Beaune for several generations, more precisely in Meursault and its surroundings. The estate gained reputation thanks to the work of Thierry, who in the 1990s produced deep and powerful wines, suitable for aging in both vintages, notably his Blagny 1er cru La Pièce sous bois, an underrated appellation from which he extracted the best. Since 2016, his daughters Elsa and Adèle have brilliantly taken over the reins. While preserving their father's philosophy, they have gradually refined the winemaking process, moving towards less extraction and new oak. Striking a balance in the vineyard and in the cellar, which is reflected in the wines, displaying harmony and pure aromatic expression. Their efforts were rewarded as the estate achieved the prestigious 3-star rating in the RVF green guide.
