Domaine Vernay

Domaine Vernay

Domaine Georges Vernay has been established in the Rhône Valley since 1940, in Condrieu. The Domaine has especially entered the legend thanks to the pioneering work of Georges Vernay, the one nicknamed "the Pope of Condrieu". By dint of a sharp work and adapted plantations on these steep slopes of Condrieu, Georges has given the Viognier grape variety and the Condrieu appellation its letters of nobility. In 1996 his daughter Christine, just as talented as her father, took over the Domaine. It perpetuates the tradition of the legendary Condrieu of the Domaine and also relaunches the reds with the cuvée Maison Rouge en Côte Rotie. The vines are grown in organic farming. The whites, while having retained their power, display profiles full of freshness. Reds are about finesse rather than power, on smooth and infused textures. High-class wines. The magnums of wine from Domaine Georges Vernay presented on this site come directly from the estate.
