Marcel Deiss founded the estate in 1947, but its reputation owes much to Jean-Michel, his grandson, who from the very beginning (40 years ago) implemented a viticulture based on specific locations and terroirs, where many others emphasized grape variety. His vision was groundbreaking, and since then, many winemakers have followed his lead. As a result, the estate focuses on embodying a certain idea of viticulture on its plots through the interplanting of various grape varieties in a single plot, in order to express the full diversity and richness of its terroir. All cultivated using biodynamic methods. The wines are complex and aromatic, never veering into excess or austerity, but always maintaining balance. Marcel Deiss, along with his friend Jacky Rigaud, emphasizes geo-sensory tasting, which, through the texture and mouthfeel of the wine, allows one to visualize a terroir, a soil, and a climate as a whole. This original approach is reflected in the wines of Jacky, showcasing an inimitable style! A different way of thinking about viticulture by considering its environment.
