The Domaine Chauvenet is the perfect embodiment of the family estate as it has existed in Burgundy for decades. The history of the estate dates back to 1964. Christophe Drag and his wife Christine, at the helm since 1994, represent the fourth generation.
For the past fifteen years, the couple has turned to sustainable agriculture, limiting inputs and treatments in the vineyard, and promoting natural cover crop in the plots. In the winery, the grapes are rigorously sorted and destemmed. The winemaking process is rather traditional, with a one-week pre-fermentation followed by maceration in tanks for 2 to 3 weeks, daily punching down and pumping over. Every year, the wines reflect the purity of fruit and the smoothness of the Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits. The magnums of wines from the Jean Chauvenet estate presented on this site are directly from the estate.
