Domaine Zusslin

Domaine Zusslin

Marie Zusslin and her brother Jean-Paul represent the 13th generation of the family based in Orschwihr. A pioneer of biodynamics in Alsace (certified since 1997), the Zusslin family sublimates magnificent plots, starting with the famous Clos Liebenberg, a terraced plot with sandstone floors.

The whole estate is biodynamic with ploughing of the soil to the horse. Similarly, all the grapes are cut by hand and all the work in the winery is carried out by gravity. The grapes are pressed whole and fermented in indigenous yeasts, before traditional ageing in Alsatian barrels between 12 and 24 months.

All the wines are dry, it is here the Zusslin paw, with the exception of the late harvest vintages. The wines are pure, delicate and tense, on a saline minerality and a very high aromatic purity. A lot of class!
