Domaine Zusslin

Domaine Zusslin

Marie Zusslin and her brother Jean-Paul represent the 13th generation of the family established in Orschwihr. A pioneer of biodynamics in Alsace (certified since 1997), the Zusslin family sublimes magnificent plots, starting with the famous Clos Liebenberg, a terraced plot with sandy soil.

The entire estate is biodynamic with soil plowing done by horse. Similarly, all the grapes are handpicked and all the cellar work is done by gravity. The grapes are pressed whole and fermented with indigenous yeasts, followed by traditional aging in Alsatian foudres for 12 to 24 months.

All the wines are dry, which is the Zusslin signature, except for the late harvest cuvées. The wines are pure, delicate, and tense, with a saline minerality and very high aromatic purity. A lot of class!
