Magnum white Côte du Jura Cuvée Tradition 2016 Domaine Grand
The Cuvée Tradition from Domaine Grand is a vibrant tribute to the Jura heritage, made from a blend of topped up Chardonnay and Savagnin aged under a veil, following the pure local tradition. This characterful white wine, crafted from 20 to 40-year-old vines, draws its richness from the grey marls and clay-limestone soils of the Jura region.
The Chardonnay, harvested at high maturity, was topped up and aged for three years in a tank, bringing roundness and suppleness. The Savagnin, also harvested at optimal maturity, aged under a veil for three years in a semi-buried cellar in Passenans, designed to recreate the ancestral conditions conducive to the natural formation of the veil. This method allows for controlled oxidation, revealing powerful and complex aromas.
The blend of the two grape varieties produces a wine that is both fruity, structured, and deeply Jura-influenced, where the saline tension of the Savagnin is balanced by the fleshy sweetness of the Chardonnay. This great white wine ages well and pairs perfectly with cheese dishes, fish in sauce, creamy poultry, or spicy recipes.
