Magnum of Givry 1er Cru red wine

This Magnum of Givry 1er Cru Clos du Cellier aux Moines 2020 from Cellier aux Moines comes from a historic plot in Givry, identified for centuries by the Cistercian monks as one of the flagship vineyards of Burgundy, beautifully exposed to the south, below the monks' cellar (built around 1130). The vines at Cellier are cultivated biodynamically, and the grapes are partially destemmed and then put into vats almost intact to preserve all their aromatic and gustatory potential. The aging process takes place in oak barrels for 18 months.

This 2020 vintage opens with velvety notes of peony, red berries, plum, spices, orange peel, and cloves. The palate is harmonious, with fine tannins framed by a beautiful energy and a salivating finish. Great wine!
