This magnum of Burgundy "La Grande Carelle" 2021 from Domaine Dubuet-Boillot is a very nice Pinot Noir from a plot in the Burgundy appellation ideally located below the Pommard castle - a plot that was once classified as Pommard village. Maxime Dubuet, a young and talented dynamic winemaker who recently took over the family vineyards in Volnay, cultivates a sixty-year-old vineyard there. Maxime takes great care of this cuvée to deliver a top-flight Burgundy, with notes of black cherries, raspberry, violet, peony, and subtle woodiness. A silky and delicate Pinot Noir that impresses with its volume in the mouth. A superb Burgundy that competes with many Village wines!
