This magnum of Crozes-Hermitage red wine Buveur d'Argile 2023 from Julien Pilon is a very pretty Syrah, devilishly easy to drink and smooth. It is certainly Julien Pilon's most "southern" cuvée, aged for 18 months in 225L barrels (30% new wood). The palate is all roundness and indulgence, with notes of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant), white pepper, and spices. A charming, ample, and sappy Crozes that will delight you with a wide range of dishes, from cuts of meat to Provençal stew.
