Magnum red wine Chateauneuf du Pape 2021, Château de Beaucastel

The Château de Beaucastel, one of the jewels of French viticulture, is famous for the exceptional quality of its Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines. Located in the northern part of the appellation, the estate benefits from an ideal exposure to the Mistral winds and a unique terroir composed of rolled pebbles, clays, sands, and limestone. Organic farming, practiced since the 1960s, allows the thirteen traditional grape varieties of the appellation to fully flourish.

The year 2021 marks a return to the characteristics of vintages from the 80s/90s, with a pronounced freshness and a beautiful balance. Described as a "vintner's year," the meticulous and constant intervention of the teams was crucial, especially following a frost episode in April and harvests punctuated by rain. The result is a promising wine, rich in aromas and elegance.

Each grape variety is hand-harvested individually, with vinification adapted to the characteristics of each: in wooden conical vats for reducing grape varieties like Syrah and Mourvèdre, and in traditional concrete vats for the others. After malolactic fermentations, the grape varieties are blended and aged in oak vats for a year before bottling.

The wine has a deep red color with violet reflections. The nose offers a harmonious blend of fruity maturity and freshness, with notes of spices and fresh fruits. On the palate, it is elegant, full, and silky, opening up to spicy notes of scrubland and revealing a perfect balance between tannic richness and roundness. The finish is long and promising.

The Château de Beaucastel 2021 is a wine with excellent aging potential, promising to develop and evolve to reveal even more complexity over the years.

Best served around 15°C, ideally after decanting to allow the wine to reveal its full complexity.
