One of the most exciting estates in the south, founded by Tom Lubbe and his wife Nathalie, a New Zealander. Having honed his skills in South Africa at the Welgemeend estate, it was in the late 90s/early 2000s that he did an internship at Gerard Gauby's estate and settled in Calce in 2001. The estate now covers more than 15 hectares of small plots of old vines where delicate wines are produced, biodynamically, without chemical inputs. He likes to harvest early to keep alcohol levels low and thus produce wines with beautiful freshness and great intensity.

This Magnum of Matassa Rouge from the Matassa estate is a characterful natural carignan, with Lubbe's distinctive style combining freshness and indulgence, the palate is smooth, lively, and long. A pure natural juice that can be surprising with its atypical aromatics that never get boring!

For what occasion? Instinctively, one would think of Hispanic dishes, the brilliance and energy of Matassa contrasting with the indulgence of a paella or a tortilla.
