Magnum red wine Givry 1er cru

This magnum of Givry 1er Cru Clos du Cellier aux Moines 2018 from Cellier aux Moines comes from a historic plot of Givry identified for centuries by Cistercian monks as one of the jewels of the Burgundy vineyard, magnificently facing south, below the cellar aux moines (built around 1130). The vines of the Cellier are exploited biodynamically and the grapes are partially destemmed and then vatted almost intact to preserve all their aromatic and taste potential. Ageing is done in oak barrels for 18 months.

This 2018 is much more powerful and concentrated than the elegant 2017. Here we find the power and aromatic warmth of the vintage, on notes of red and black fruits, liquorice, peony, spices and orange peel. A wine that will age wonderfully on this vintage.
