This Magnum of Monthélie 1er Cru "Sur la Velle" 2017, vinified with natural and precise methods by Julien Altaber, embodies all the delicacy of a mature Burgundy Pinot Noir. Coming from a confidential 1er Cru vineyard nestled between the terroirs of Volnay and Meursault, this wine reflects Sextant's free-spirited and sensitive approach, with a strong attachment to living things and natural balances.

The 2017 vintage, marked by favorable climatic conditions, gives this cuvée a subtle balance between freshness and depth. The nose reveals evolved and nuanced aromas of ripe red fruits - black cherry, candied raspberry - accompanied by notes of undergrowth, dry leaves, sweet spices, and a hint of smokiness. On the palate, the texture is elegant, polished, carried by melted tannins and delicate tension. The finish, long and elegant, leaves an impression of serenity and harmony.

A rare, subtly aged cuvée that appeals to lovers of artisanal, vibrant, and sincere Burgundy wines. In magnum format, this Monthélie reveals all its complexity and its ability to accompany refined cuisine, including delicate meats, truffled poultry, or roasted vegetables.
