It was founded in 1829 through the meeting of Athanase de Villermont, a landowner in Champagne, and a German wine merchant, Joseph Bollinger. In 1920, the house gained its prestige and brand image thanks to Jacques Bollinger, who notably created the famous Bollinger RD cuvée. Located in Ay, the Bollinger house is one of the few that remains independent and family-owned. Every vintage from Bollinger showcases great elegance, revealing a lot of personality each year.

This Magnum of Champagne La Grande Année 2014 from Bollinger is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Only the highest quality harvests are vintage-dated at Bollinger: the 2014 vintage has produced a wine that is precise, refined, and complex, with exceptional mineral notes and intensity.
