Magnum of white wine Mercurey les Margotons 2008, from the Cellier aux Moines estate

Architectural gem of the Burgundy vineyards, the Cellier aux Moines is one of the oldest wine estates in the region. Founded in 1130 by the Cistercian monks in Givry, the Cellier and its vineyard enclosure are still preserved. During the revolution, the estate was requisitioned and sold to a family that kept it for two centuries, until the Pascal family acquired it in 2004. The Pascal family implemented an extensive restoration program for both the Cellier and the vineyard. A new winery was also built, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to vinify wines with precision while preserving the authenticity of their terroir. Particularly notable are the iconic vines: 5 hectares of the famous Clos du Cellier aux Moines, a historic premier cru in Givry, as well as some prestigious parcels in Puligny and Chassagne Montrachet. The estate covers 10 hectares, all cultivated using biodynamic methods. Another distinctive feature is the absence of wine pumping thanks to this gravity-fed winery spread over four levels. The motto for producing quality wines is "Simplex Natura" (Let nature take its course).

This Magnum of white wine Mercurey les Margotons 2008 from the Cellier aux Moines estate has evolved beautifully over time, with tertiary aromas of custard, dried fruits, apricot, honey, and candied citrus blending perfectly with the natural acidity of the vintage. A gastronomic white wine with freshness and aromatic complexity. The aging potential of the magnum format reveals its full strength!
