This magnum of Charmes Chambertin 2020 from Domaine Taupenot-Merme comes directly from the estate, a true honor given the excellent reputation of Virginie and her brother Romain's wines. With this Charmes, one touches the very essence of Grand Cru. The family's vines come from massal selection naturally producing very fine grapes that thrive on this gently sloping soil located on the Morey side, just below Chambertin. Its aromatic intensity sets it apart immediately, with a bouquet of red and black fruits accompanied by elegant and powerful floral notes. This wine ages remarkably well, developing notes of tobacco, musk, and cedar. Simply superb!
