This magnum of Montagny 1er cru Les Bassets from Laurent Cognard is a sure value from Montagny, delivering a powerful, creamy, and perfectly balanced wine. Benefiting from careful aging in 500-liter oak barrels (a large container to preserve freshness and minerality), this Montagny 1er cru Les Bassets is Laurent's favorite wine. The initial attack with ripe yellow fruits (apple, peach, pear) blends with a mouthfeel that is balanced and mineral-saline. Lovely finish of acacia and white flowers, a very successful wine as every year with this Montagny 1er cru Les Bassets.
