Jeroboam Champagne Billecart Salmon Vintage 2013
Billecart-Salmon, a large House with a human touch!
The Bollinger style, density and subtlety!
Jéroboam de Champagne Spécial Cuvée, Bollinger
The Bollinger house is one of the legendary names of Champagne, and rightly so. It was founded in 1829 thanks to the meeting of Athanase de Villermont, a Champagne owner, and a German wine merchant, Joseph Bollinger. In 1920, the house gained all its nobility and brand image thanks to Jacques Bollinger, who notably created the famous Bollinger RD cuvée. Located in Ay, the Bollinger house is one of the few that remains independent and family-owned. All the cuvées are of great quality, revealing a lot of personality with each vintage.
This Jéroboam of Champagne Spécial Cuvée from Bollinger is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay, and 15% Meunier. More than 85% of the grapes come from classified grand cru and premier cru vineyards, with a maturation time more than twice as long as the appellation rules! Therefore, this is a high-end and unique champagne, with a majority of reserve wines, some of which are kept in magnums for 5 to 15 years. This champagne impresses with its subtle combination of structure, length, and liveliness; a fine velvety bubble and pure aromas of pear, brioche, spices, and fresh walnuts... Enjoy it now or let it age in the cellar.
