Yellow Chartreuse Created in 1840, this yellow liqueur is inspired by the recipe of the "Élixir Végétal". Thanks to its popularity, Father Garnier, prosecutor and head of the liqueurs at the time, decided to officially name it Yellow Chartreuse and trademarked "Chartreuse" in 1852. It is a liqueur with an alcohol content of 43°, still elaborated and produced today by the Carthusian Fathers.
Yellow Chartreuse is characterized by its sweetness, spicy aromas, and its natural color derived from 130 plants, flowers, barks, roots, and spices.
Its production process is significantly different from Green Chartreuse and requires several weeks of work in various stages:

  • Elaboration of mixtures by the monks in the plant room at the Grande Chartreuse monastery.
  • Distillation to obtain the aroma.
  • Various macerations to extract the active principles of the plants and give the liqueur its natural color.

It then ages for a long time in oak vats before being bottled, continuing to evolve and develop its complexity in the bottle.

Characteristic of Yellow Chartreuse:

  • An intense yellow color, a fresh and spicy nose.
  • A soft structure.
  • Aromas of turmeric, citrus, and anise.
  • Floral notes that extend the tasting experience.
  • Alcohol content: 43% vol

Best enjoyed at a temperature between 12°C and 13°C, or served over ice.

Capacity: 3 Liters
