Jéroboam Chartreuse Verte, Les Pères Chartreux

The queen of liqueurs was born in 1605 when the Carthusian monks, very good herbalists, received a manuscript from Duke d'Estrées mentioning the formula for an Elixir of long life. The Carthusian monks refined this recipe and developed the current recipe, under the name of health liqueur. The liqueurs are still produced to this day in the department of Isère.

This Jéroboam of Green Chartreuse from the Carthusian Monks is the iconic liqueur of Chartreuse and the worthy descendant of the original recipe. Its natural color comes from a subtle blend of 130 plants, herbs, flowers, and roots. Everything is macerated and then distilled to extract the active principles of each plant. The nose is powerful, herbaceous, and peppery. The taste is fresh, pure, and intense, with notes of mint, citrus, and pine sap.

For what occasion? Serve chilled (between 12 and 13 degrees) as a digestif or in a cocktail
