The Domaine Georges Vernay has been established in the Rhône Valley since 1940, in Condrieu. The Domaine became legendary thanks to the pioneering work of Georges Vernay, known as "the pope of Condrieu". Through meticulous work and appropriate plantings on the steep slopes of Condrieu, Georges elevated the Viognier grape variety and the Condrieu appellation to new heights. In 1996, his equally talented daughter Christine took over the Domaine. She continues the tradition of the Domaine's mythical Condrieu whites and also revitalizes the red wines with the Maison Rouge cuvée in Côte Rotie. The vineyards are cultivated using Organic Agriculture practices. The whites, while still powerful, display profiles full of freshness. The reds focus on finesse rather than power, with silky and infused textures. Truly exceptional wines.

This Magnum of red wine Côte Rôtie Maison Rouge, Domaine Georges Vernay comes from a selection of old vines planted in the 1950s. 100% Syrah with 30% whole bunches and 20% new barrels. A great wine where precious wood notes, spices harmoniously blend with red fruits and cherries. The palate is ample, deep, with silky tannins. This wine has a significant aging potential!
